History of the Firm
DeSimone, Aviles, Shorter & Oxamendi, LLP (DASO) was formed in the immediate aftermath following the tragic events of September 11th. Ralph DeSimone was a former managing attorney for a leading World Trade Center law firm prior to September 11, 2001. After the tragedy, Mr. DeSimone and co-founder Michael Aviles, a colleague of Mr. DeSimone at the WTC firm, established DeSimone, Aviles, Shorter & Oxamendi, LLP.
Within three weeks of the tragedy, the firm opened its office, recreated its clients’ legal files and hired a number of former colleagues. After 9-11, DASO was determined to continue its work, focus on its cases, and not let its clients down. DeSimone, Aviles, Shorter and Oxamendi, LLP, officially opened its doors on October 1, 2001.
The motivation and mindset that served the members of DASO well after 9-11 are apparent today in the manner in which they handle their cases. DASO’s mission is to aggressively provide creative solutions to clients’ short- and long-term issues. Its goal is to never lose sight of the high standards, ethical values and principles that led its members into law in the first place. The firm has a proven record of success in
