Principal in the law firm, The Law Offices of Ian A. Niles, P.C., Mr. Niles serves as counsel to Desimone, Aviles, Shorter & Oxamendi, LLP. An experienced trial attorney, Mr. Niles specializes in criminal trial practice, representing individuals charged with crimes ranging from murder, robbery, conspiracy, weapons possession and drug sales to
assaults, DWI and theft.
A former prosecutor, Mr. Niles served as an Assistant District Attorney
in Kings County from 1993 through 1997, where he tried numerous felony
and misdemeanor cases. After leaving public service, Mr. Niles has
represented individuals charged in all types of criminal cases. He is
best known for successfully defending Earl "DMX" Simmons against rape charges in 1998 and Jamal "Shyne" Barrow against attempted murder charges in 2001. |

Mr. Niles also serves as a transactional attorney with a focus in boxing
contracts. He has represented a host of boxers including former World
Boxing Association Super Lightweight champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris,
Heavyweight contender Taurus Sykes and Lightweight contender Edelmiro "Tiger" Martinez.
Mr. Niles is admitted to practice law in the courts of New Yorks State
and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers,
the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Brooklyn
Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association.
Mr. Niles received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Howard University
School of Business with a Bachelors of Business Administration.
